STC's food parcel delivery project aims to provide essential food items to low-income households in Keighley, in order to alleviate food insecurity and support those who may be struggling to afford basic necessities. The project works with local partners, such as food banks and community centres, to identify households in need and distribute the food parcels on a regular basis.
The importance of this project is significant, particularly in the current economic climate where the COVID-19 pandemic and Cost of Living Crisis has exacerbated poverty levels across the UK. According to a report by the Trussell Trust, the UK's largest food bank network, food bank usage increased by 33% in the first six months of the pandemic, and by 47% for families with children. Food insecurity can have serious implications for health, education and overall wellbeing, making this project a vital part of STC's efforts to support vulnerable individuals and families in Keighley.

FOOD PARCELS
A helping hand to fighting hunger
We at STC understand how difficult it could be in such times due to the global pandemic. Our projects are focused on helping those who are faced with difficulties and receive little to no help hence we have decided to carry out this project of delivering food packages to those of Low Income Households and families of BAME communities.
This project which started on the first day of the February half term 2021 was only set to last 6 weeks but due to the extremely successful execution we have continued the delivery of Food Parcels.
Previously, we have worked in partnership with Tiny Stars Day Nursery, City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council & Department for Work & Pensions.
STC would like to thank our funders, supporters, volunteers and service users for making this project a success.

We would like to thank Tiny Stars Day Nursery and all the volunteers involved for the tremendous efforts made to get these food packages out to the families and individuals.
CHRISTMAS FOOD PROJECT 2021

HELPING TO TACKLE HUNGER
Our Christmas Food Project Week 1 out of 2 was a huge success we managed to deliver a large amount of food parcels and are grateful for our incredible volunteers.
Bradford Council has been allocated funding from the Department for Work and
Pensions’ Household Support Fund to help residents who would otherwise struggle
to buy food, keep their home warm, pay essential utility bills or meet other essential
living costs this winter.
The council is working with schools, community groups and foodbanks to ensure the
help gets to those who need it most. People do not need to apply to access the fund.
If they are eligible they will be made aware.
More information is available at https://www.bradford.gov.uk/benefits/applying-for-
